VOLUNTÁRIO INTERNACIONAL - MOÇAMBIQUE

Institution Opportunities

Description

The Amigos de Inharrime - Portugal (AIP) is a non-profit NGO, founded in August 2015, which supports and promotes the development of the communities of Inharrime, Namaacha and Moatize. Its main focus is children and their happiness. We exist to help improve the quality of life of the Mozambican people, contributing to the development of the population in precarious situations. Our main areas of intervention are education and health, as they are fundamental pillars to promote the improvement of children's living conditions and happiness. We cooperate with the Salesian congregation, but the association is secular.

The 1-year vacancy for the international volunteer was opened due to the growing need for a permanent link between the Association in Portugal and Mozambique. The main functions will include:

- Monitoring of the Sponsorship Program, the Bread for All Program, the Scholarship Program and the Nwana Program;

- Monitoring of the Association's other projects;

- Writing reports, creating budgets and communicating with sponsors;

- Links with district services, local volunteers, Salesian Sisters, and the rest of the local population;

- Support on social networks and in the monitoring of volunteers in the short term;

- Support and interaction with the intern and semi-intern children of Inharrime and Namaacha;

- Permanent reporting and communication with the Association in Portugal.

Volunteering lasts for 1 YEAR, starting in September 2025. The expenses with the round trip, along with personal accident insurance, are borne by the Association. The Association will also bear the expenses related to the visa and the traveler's consultation, to which will also be added a symbolic monthly amount for expenses with communications and transport. The volunteer stays at the association's house/headquarters in Inharrime. In Namaacha and Moatize, the volunteer will have accommodation and food offered by the centers of the Salesian Sisters.
