"Once upon a time, there was a laundry, from the beginning of the last century, deactivated several years ago, at the Pulido Valente Hospital. The enthusiasm was great, we got to work and on December 18, 2013 the 4th Nucleus of Re-Food was born, in the parish of Lumiar. I remember well the event that was, the day of the Inauguration, with the presence of the Infanta Helena of Spain, Dr. Mercedes Balsemão, the Secretary of State for Health, the President of the Parish Council, the President of the Administration of the North Lisbon Hospital Center and several guests. There were only the basics to function, but with the help of many partners and the determination of managers and volunteers, we now have very satisfactory operating conditions." <brA faithful testimony of our founder, Francisco António Amaral, reflects well the effort and development of the Refood Lumiar nucleus, since its conception, just over 7 years ago - which makes it one of the oldest nuclei of our great institution - and to which hundreds of volunteers and dozens of partners have contributed. We strive to connect with our community and provide the best possible support, regardless of the difficulties we may feel, to our beneficiaries, as they are the ones who matter most to us and our great reason for developing our volunteer activity. For them, we have done, do everything and will continue to do so, always trying to respond to any request for help that is made to us.
