Institution's Mission
The Portuguese Red Cross – Lisbon Humanitarian Centre aims to prevent and alleviate human suffering, promoting dignity, inclusion and equal opportunities. We operate in the social, educational and community fields, with a strong focus on youth empowerment, school-based intervention (including TEIP contexts), inclusion of migrants and refugees, support for young people with special educational needs, and the empowerment of women and girls. Through the Young Birds project and the Lisbon Red Cross Youth, we mobilise volunteers to generate real community impact, fostering civic participation, skills development and sustainable social transformation.
