The Convent of the Cardaes was founded to host a community of Carmelite nuns who lived in cloister. It is one of the convent buildings in Lisbon that survived the earthquake of 1755, still preserving its entire collection, including one of the world's largest collections of Dutch tiles from the 17th century. Nowadays, the Convent is the home of young adults with special needs and who here have their quality of life guaranteed, under the care of a Dominican community.
The Convent is sought after by national and foreign tourists and we need support in the reception and reception of them, and also in the realization of guided tours to those who seek us.
We are open from Wednesday to Monday, between 10:00 am - 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Ideally, our volunteers would choose one or more fixed schedules, depending on their availability, and thus we can have stable teams during the different periods of operation.
